About the Art Form
About the Art Form
Mewar’s miniature paintings, originating in the 17-18th century, are one of the most beautiful and recognisable art forms in India. Known for exquisite penmanship and minute detailing by the artists, the painstaking time taken on each painting ensures the finesse and technique is unique to the artists trained in tradition of miniature from Mughal era.
While the Palas from Bengal are recognized as the pioneers of this art form, Mughal reign championed it further to greater heights. One can see the heavy influences from Mughal reign combined with motifs from the Rajput culture, these paintings can brighten up your home decor and enhance your wall aesthetics with flourish.
